米国税関が新制度を近くスタート、入国者が所持するPCのデータを丸ごとコピー - Technobahn米国税関が外国から米国に入国する全ての人が所持するPCに保管されているデータを入国審査時にハードディスクごと丸ごとコピーするという新制度を近く導入する方向で準備を進めていることが15日、英ガーディアン紙の報道により明らかとなった。

ただし、元記事では、「入国者のデータを全部ダウンロードしてもよいと裁判所が言った」とは書いてあっても、「それをどう実施するかは不明なので、現在同国議会に問い合わせ中」ともある。

ので、technobahnの日本語記事はいささか煽り過ぎのきらいもあるのだけど、「仮に税関がそういうことをやっても許される」、「実際にそういう目に遭ったというレポートが上がっている」というのは確かなようで、同国からデータを持った外国人を遠ざけるには充分な理由というのは確かではないか。
なお、同記事では、米国だけではなく英国でもそうだともある。
